flying nature: TRIPLE RESIDENCE IN PAPAGOU, ATHENS
Situated on the outskirts of the urban grid, bridging the gap between the city and the Ymittos mountain area, the design concept centers around establishing a harmonious blend of natural and urban elements to accommodate the lifestyle of a Greek family. At the core of the housing complex lies a central structure, a “flying” wooden volume reminiscent of a fragment of the nearby mountains. This serves as a focal point and gathering space for the families, fostering a sense of togetherness in an outdoor environment. The remaining activities are organized beneath this central structure, within concrete tubes that serve as private living zones and also function as the supporting structure of the complex.
